Tasmanian Plant Names Unravelled

At nearly 500 pages and around 900 colour images, this is a comprehensive reference work for the plants that grow in Tasmania, both native and introduced. The emphasis is on the naming, with explanations of common and scientific names, and biographies of those prominent botanists, collectors and explorers whose names have been incorporated into the plant names.

The authors, Mark Wapstra and his parents Annie and Hans, are all accomplished plant scientists, writers and photographers. You would be forgiven for thinking that having three clients for a book design project (all of whom are capable of spotting a double space at fifty paces) would be the job from hell, but in fact it worked extremely well. I was sorry to see it come to an end.
